Workshops and Activities

Experience the Mediterranean Diets: A genuine cultural journey into the gastronomy of the French and Italian Riviera.

Go native with an Italian and live the Mediterranean lifestyle where food is at the centre of family life.

Your Guardian Chef has been blogging about the gastronomy in the French and Italian Rivera for the past two years, exploring Traditions, Influences, Trends and Innovations.

You can now join its gourmet workshops in a private Villa situated in Saint Paul de Vence, with a panoramic view overlooking the hills of the Natural Park de la Sine and the massif of the Esterel.

There are plenty of activities to join.

  • You will experience how Italian/French cooking traditions can be adapted to a modern multinational family; find out how to reproduce and adapt genuine Mediterranean recipes for your own daily meals.
  • Enjoy a genuine local farmer’s market, right next to the fields where the vegetables are grown. Discover the real taste of fruits and vegetables matured under the Mediterranean sun and learn to appreciate their flavour in simple and easy ways to prepare. If in season, you may also enjoy some fruits and vegetables from the garden.
  • Take on a “Grandma” challenge – when there were no industrial producers and all the food was made from scratch: pasta, gnocchi, pizza, and…..occasionally even jams, preserve tomatoes, crystallized violet or limoncello. Discover their secrets and learn to make them yourself!
  • Enjoy the food you prepare in the (mostly) sunny garden next to the pool and overlooking the view with ‘live performances’ from the birds and cigales!
  • Are you curious and want to learn more about the new world of digital publishing? Laura can help you to take stylish mouth-watering food photo’s simply with the camera on your phone.
  • But, if you just want to enjoy the food in relaxed surroundings, join the occasional Table d’Hote, meat other travellers and experience what it means to eat the Mediterranean way: abundant servings, convivial table, and long chats with a nice bottle of wine!
